We are never just one thing, we are so many things. Why are so many of us still confused about this?
I meet women at school, at work and online ,who almost apologetically says they like to sit at home and draw a little, or that they like cooking, or even that they like politics.
It’s like we make excuses for being curious and loving to learn new things.
Let’s not do that. Using our creativity is what makes us feel alive, and living in the moment.
We are, as human beings, so incredibly multifaceted and constantly evolving, that it seems unnatural to live a life the same way.
Unfortunately many of our politicians here in Denmark are not understanding this very basic need to evolve. They have come up with this law, that you are not allowed to take different education, in a different field from the one you already have. So if you have been a teacher for 10 years and you now want to be a carpenter, that’s just too bad.
No. I’m not making this up!
They got some criticism (no surprice there), so now they have changed it, so you have to use the education you have for 6 years before you are “allowed” to change lane.
No. Still not making this up!
Why should you care about some crazy Danish law?
Well, you shouldn’t really, I simply mention it because it seems that people who should know better, still don’t.
So you see, we need you to be open about all your different interests and passions.
It’s on the telly (so it must be true)
Not really, but I watch this program on Danish telly, where two “Lifestyle Experts” walk around some well-known persons house, and then they have to guess who lives there.
I find it interesting ( and not just ’cause I’m nosy ;-)) because people are so different. People love their hobbies at home, they live out passions, that has little to do with their day-job.
No two people decorate their homes the same.
Conclusion: we are diverse as people.
And thank wonderfulness for that!
Being a creative multifaceted Person is normal
As Brené Brown says,
There are no creative people and non-creative people. There are only people who use their creativity, and those who don’t.
I believe wholeheartedly, that we are so many multi-passionate, multifaceted people living lives that restricts us from using many of the different sides of us. And it’s making us all kinds of sad. Physically, emotionally, spiritually, intellectually.
The good news is, you can do something about it.
It’s my mission to help women who, like myself, walk the path of life with creativity as my companion.
If that’s you too, make sure you get on my weekly newsletter so we can walk together Click Here
We are never just one thing
We get good at what we focus on and using our creativity is a smart decision.
I constantly practice saying all the things I’m interested in, when I have to talk to people about what I do.
And writing copy for this blog is a challenge too. But that’s just how it is, and that’s good enough.
It’s good to have a challenge.
It’s good to learn and evolve.
It’s good not to be just one thing.
