If you had a step-by step plan to reach your goal, would you follow it?
Let me ask you this: if you had a step-by-step plan to reach your goal would you follow it?
If you had a proper plan that would take you to that dream that would change your life or at the very least, improve it, would you follow it?
Or would be find a way to avoid the plan if it required you to do something that felt uncomfortable?
I'll be honest, goals scare me. And plans make me run away. I'm a creative independent and getting locked in a strict plan makes me feel like wearing a straight jacket (or how I imagine that feels).
I actually set goals all the time and put them in my calendar and this is how I get things done. It's just the idea of someone telling me to make a step-by-step plan brings out the rebel in me.
I know about kaizen steps and breaking steps way down so they are manageable and not overwhelming, but having a complete step-by-step plan from a-z is not something I have been using.
Using a step-by-step plan to reach your goal
Since doing my Life Coaching training I now have a roadmap for setting a goal and backtrack the steps to reach that goal. And it's really effective.
Could this be the end of my overwhelmed and self-sabotaging ways?
I've had major resistance on the BIG goal setting lingo that is online. I just prefer a more gentle, creative and joyful approach.
Thing is, if you keep brainstorming and working on all that's involved in reaching your goal, AND break the steps down small enough, AND write it all down in a schedule that suits your reality, then creating a plan is not such a bad idea.
Also, it's good if your goal is important to you. Heart-centered and in line with your values. This helps.
