The kaizen philosophy of creating good change with small continuous steps crawls under your skin, slowly. 

Taking small steps is hard to get your head around in a conscious way, anyway. You understand what taking a very small step means and you probably take many small steps every day, maybe at work.

But there's a difference between going about your day-to-day life in the best manner and the conscious decision to use small steps strategically to achieve a goal or a change you'd like for yourself.

How kaizen philosophy can nurture your soul

The kaizen philosophy is about non-pressure and bypassing fear in the brain, so you can use this method to get still and listen to your body and inner voice.


Step 1

Make sure your spirit of asking is gentle and patient.


Step 2

Ask yourself a small question that relates to nurturing your soul
Examples:

  • What is one small thing that makes me feel good?

  • What is one thing I wish to contribute to the world?

  • What is one small thing that nurtures my soul?


Step 3

Ask your question at least once a day and wait patiently for your subconscious to come up with an answer.


The power of asking ourselves small questions lies in being patient and asking repeatedly.
